This year your child has the opportunity to be in our classroom 100 Club! All your child has to do is read 100 books! This means during independent reading time, free choice time, or at home. Children are encouraged to use the books read from his/her FRED logs as well. In June we'll have a celebration for all of the students who have reached the bronze, silver, or gold levels.
Please note that this is optional! Your child should be doing a minimum of 20-30 minutes of assigned reading each school night anyway, so that will be a great way to build up the 100 reading log as well! I hope to have many GOLD members in our 100 Club in June! I will post updates in classroom newsletters and on our website so we can all celebrate reading accomplishments. Now... go for the gold! A separate notice will be sent home with a 100 Club Reading Log with more information. Please note-most students are reading chapter books. Therefore every 50 pages of a chapter book will be counted as 1 book on the 100 Books List.
Please remind your 3rd grader to give me the 100 Log when 50 books have been read.
They will be a BRONZE Member at that point.
